«Black Bears»
Chong Son Kung Fu did not start out as a story about Macau at all. In August 2018 the club packed up and moved to Macau, taking the name Black Bears and, with it, borrowing an old piece of the city's own memory: Bobo, the black bear who lived in Flora Garden and stood in for Macau in the public imagination for more than three decades.
The club now plays in black, white and red, and its games at the University of Macau Sports Complex draw crowds in the low thousands rather than the tens of thousands the Venetian's Cotai Arena can hold for the bigger East Asia Super League nights the Bears joined in 2024.
Under Garrett Kelly, who took over in 2024, the Bears found a run of form that the club had not managed before.
