Young Angels Kosice Women

Home games at Športová hala Stará jazdiareň used to mean 2,500 seats around the floor; a reconstruction finished in 2023 cut that to 846.

The lineage traces to 2001, when Daniel Jendrichovský took over the team from VSS Lokomotíva Košice. The Good Angels name arrived in 2011, borrowed from the charity Dobrý anjel, and under it Košice won the Slovak Extraliga fifteen years running, from 2004 to 2018. The Slovak Cup came nine times in the same stretch, and in Europe the club took the Middle European League in 2013 and the Elite Women's Basketball League in both 2017 and 2018. The high point abroad was the 2012–13 EuroLeague Women, where Košice reached the Final Four and finished fourth, a season that brought WNBA names like Angel McCoughtry and Candice Dupree through the building.

Zuzana Žirková played through most of that era, from 2010 to 2018, then stayed on as head coach once the playing days ended. The 2018 title was also the last one: financial trouble broke up the professional side that year, and the senior team was rebuilt as Young Angels Košice under the academy that had been running since 2016. There was still fight left in it — runner-up finishes in the Czech-Slovak Cup in 2022 and 2024, against Sokol Hradec Králové and then Piešťanské Čajky — but by late 2023 a dispute with the city over use of the arena pushed most of the remaining players out, and the club's weight shifted back to the academy, to players like Tamara Mandelíková coming up through it now.
