CBK Košice sit back in the top-tier Slovak Women's Basketball Extraliga after the 2022/2023 promotion.
The club traces back to 1984, when it was registered as ILT 83 Košice; the CBK Košice name arrived only in 1994. Between 1998 and 2010 the senior side operated under a merger with Cassovia Košice, playing at various points as CBK Cassovia Košice and CBK Cassovia Makos Bardejov. Cassovia reached the Extraliga final in 1995/96 and again in 2000/01, finishing runner-up both times. When the merger ended in 2010, the senior team had to start again in the lower divisions under the name CBK Jugo.
