Reims

Reims won the Ligue Magnus in 2002 and folded the same year, undone by financial difficulties. He later played at the Olympics.

The Hockey Club de Reims (HCR), known as the Flammes Bleues, had been founded in 1969. It grew out of the Association Sportive Rémoise de Patinage, set up a year earlier. Vladimir Kovin, a Soviet Olympic champion, played for the club, and his number 10 shirt has been retired. Christophe Marcelle's number 19 has been retired too.

The club did not disappear. Reims Champagne Hockey, nicknamed the Phénix de Reims, took over in 2002 and lasted until 2015. It was liquidated largely because its home arena closed. The current club, Reims Métropole Hockey, was founded that same year and kept the Phénix name. It plays in Division 2 at the Patinoire Albert 1er, a rink with 600 seats. The colours are blue, white and grey, with champagne added.

Across all these reorganisations, the main rival has stayed the same: Amiens and their Gothiques.
