Viborg secured a narrow 2-1 victory over Aarhus GF in the Superliga's third round of the regular season on Thursday evening. Sondergaard's two goals proved decisive despite Aarhus controlling large stretches of possession.
Sondergaard opened the scoring in the eleventh minute, giving Viborg an early advantage that held until F. Emmery levelled for the visitors thirty-one minutes in.
