Horsens 2-2 Aarhus GF
Horsens and Aarhus GF drew 2-2 in the Superliga's Regular Season round 9 at KAS Arena on Sunday afternoon. The visitors had been expected to take all three points — we gave the away side a 79 per cent confidence rating — but the match turned on its head in the closing stages.
Magnus Knudsen opened the scoring for Aarhus in the 58th minute, and here's the thing: Horsens responded quickly. Callum McCowatt levelled in the 68th, then Jakob Bonde Jensen put the hosts ahead in the 89th. Ivan Milićević snatched a late equaliser for the visitors in stoppage time, the 94th minute to be precise.
There were plenty of changes around the goals. Ole Martin Kolskogen and Adam Herdonsson both came on for Horsens in the 59th minute, followed by Tobias Bech Kristensen in the 61st. Yamirou Ouorou and Frederik Emmery joined the home side in the 67th, while Adrian Justinussen and Abdul Moro arrived in the 77th.
Aarhus made their substitutions later. Janni Serra and Colin Rosler came on in the 67th and 84th respectively, with Rasmus Carstensen joining in the 84th as well. The match saw four yellow cards in total — Adam Herdonsson in the 35th, Alagie Saine in the 60th, Kristian Arnstad and Mikael Anderson in the final moments.
Horsens dominated possession at 53 per cent and registered 95 attacks compared to 99 for the visitors. They managed five shots on target but converted only two goals, while Aarhus hit the frame three times. Both sides created similar numbers of chances — two big chances for Horsens, three for the visitors — and neither goalkeeper faced a serious test.
The result leaves Horsens seventh with ten points from eight games, three wins, one draw and four defeats. Aarhus sit twelfth with four points, four draws and four losses. By then we'd already seen the visitors grind out a 2-2 draw with Silkeborg earlier in the month, and this was another stubborn performance from a side that hasn't tasted victory yet.
