About the player
Alexis Castro joined Estudiantes de La Plata in January 2025 on a free transfer after leaving Uruguay's Nacional. He signed a contract running to December 2026.
The clearest evidence of what Castro brings going forward came at Colón, where he shared the top scorer title in the 2021 Copa de la Liga Profesional with eight goals from midfield. He scored the opener in a quarter-final against Talleres that Colón went on to win on penalties, and then struck again in the final, netting the third goal in a 3-0 win over Racing Club to seal the title.
Castro began his professional career at Tigre, making his debut in March 2015.
He has not been capped by Argentina at senior or youth international level.
