Santiago Misael Núñez

Santiago Núñez moved from Roque Pérez to the youth system at Estudiantes de La Plata after coming through the ranks at his hometown club, Club Atlético Roque Pérez. He made his debut for the Estudiantes reserve side in March 2021 and stepped up to the first team the following year, in time to be part of the squad that won the Copa Argentina in 2023.

In December 2023, Estudiantes sold 90% of the centre-back's rights to Mexican club Santos Laguna for around $2.5 million, keeping a 10% sell-on clause, and the move was confirmed the following January. Just over a year later, Estudiantes repurchased the remaining stake to bring him back to Argentina in a deal reported at between $2 million and $2.5 million, and signed him to a contract running to December 2028.

Back at Estudiantes, Núñez was part of the squad that won the Torneo Clausura and the Trofeo de Campeones de la Liga Profesional in 2025.

Built at 187cm, Núñez has yet to receive a senior call-up to the Argentina national team.
