Fabricio Iacovich

He joined the Estudiantes de La Plata academy in 2017 after starting out at the amateur club Nueva Alianza in his home city, and for a long stretch he served as backup goalkeeper, first to Mariano Andújar and then to Fernando Muslera, without making a single senior appearance. He signed his first professional contract in May 2022 and remained part of a squad that kept winning trophies while he watched from the bench.

That changed on 13 December 2024, when he made his professional debut in a league match against Argentinos Juniors. He went on to establish himself as a regular starter for Estudiantes. As a squad member he has collected the Copa Argentina in 2023, the Copa de la Liga Profesional in 2024, the Trofeo de Campeones in 2024 and 2025, and the Primera División Torneo Clausura in 2025, though in the biggest of those 2025 finals — the Clausura decider against Racing Club and the Trofeo de Campeones against Platense — it was Muslera who started, with Iacovich again on the bench.

At international level, the goalkeeper has represented Argentina's youth sides. He earned his first cap for the Sub-23 team on 13 October 2023 against Venezuela and went on to make four appearances at that level. He was named in Javier Mascherano's squad for the Pre-Olympic Tournament and later included in Argentina's final list for the Paris Olympics, though Gerónimo Rulli held the starting spot and Iacovich did not play. He also received a call-up to the Sub-20 squad without featuring.
