Aidomo Emakhu

Aidomo Emakhu made his first appearance for the Republic of Ireland on 16 May 2026, coming off the bench in a 5–0 friendly win over Grenada. He is a left winger of Nigerian descent who holds dual citizenship and chose to play for Ireland.

He grew up in Clondalkin, Dublin, and moved through several youth sides: St Francis, Lourdes Celtic and Crumlin United. He also spent time at Shelbourne and had a first spell at Shamrock Rovers before returning there. His senior debut for Shamrock Rovers came in 2021. He played 46 games across all competitions and scored six goals.

In January 2023 he joined Millwall for an undisclosed fee on a contract running to June 2026. His time in London was interrupted by injuries: a quad problem in January 2023, a groin injury in October 2023 and a second groin injury in December 2024 that kept him out for 48 days. In September 2024 he was sent off for a headbutt on Preston North End's Robbie Brady and served a three-match ban. Across 82 appearances for Millwall he scored three goals.

Oxford United signed him in February 2026 for a reported seven-figure fee, which some sources put at £1.4 million. He agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract to June 2029. In the 2026/27 season he has made 13 league appearances. He started the early league games against Stevenage, a 2–1 win, and Milton Keynes Dons, a 2–2 draw.

Emakhu stands 1.80 m tall. For Oxford he plays in the number 10 shirt.
