Adam John Forshaw

Adam Forshaw is a midfielder who has moved through the English game one club at a time. He grew up in Liverpool and came through the academy at Everton, making his senior debut in 2009. Everton released him in May 2012.

By then he was already at Brentford, who took him on loan in February 2012 and signed him permanently that May. He stayed two years before Wigan Athletic signed him in September 2014. Only a few months later, in January 2015, he moved on again to Middlesbrough. Both moves were reported at roughly £2.0–2.5 million. His time at Middlesbrough lasted until January 2018 and brought him to the attention of England manager Gareth Southgate, who scouted him. No senior cap followed. His only international appearance came for the England Under-21 side.

The largest move of his career came on 18 January 2018, when Leeds United paid £4.5 million for him. He stayed there until his contract expired in 2023.

He joined Norwich City in August 2023 and left in January 2024, when his contract was terminated. He then went to Plymouth Argyle, and he ended that contract in January 2025 to sign a short-term deal with Blackburn Rovers. On 19 June 2025 he signed a one-year extension that covers the 2025–26 season.
