Arouna Sangante

Arouna Sangante was named Le Havre captain at the age of 21, having come through the club's academy after arriving in 2017 from Red Star FC, itself a step up from his first youth club, Cosmos Saint-Denis. He progressed through the reserve side before breaking into the first team in 2020, and by the time he left the club his contract had run its course, he had made 142 senior appearances and scored eight goals.

His first goal for Le Havre came against Amiens in April 2022, and Sangante was named to the division's Team of the Year. He made his Ligue 1 debut the following season, against Montpellier in August 2023, as Le Havre returned to the top flight.

Sevilla had tracked him since 2024, and a move eventually materialised in June 2026, when Sangante signed a five-year contract with the Spanish club as a free agent. Le Havre had previously sought a fee in the region of four to five million euros for the centre-back, but with his contract expiring, the transfer went through at no cost. He took the number 12 shirt at Sevilla.

At international level, Sangante received his first senior call-up to Senegal in March 2024, for friendlies against Gabon and Benin. He returned to the squad under coach Patrick Vieira for a run of fixtures including Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mozambique and Ethiopia and a friendly against Comoros.
