About the player
Aaron Nemane's route to Rotherham United ran through a swap deal, two promotions and a fair share of loan spells. Born in Amiens, he joined Manchester City's academy in 2012 and progressed through the age groups, playing in the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup. City instead sent him out to gain experience, first at Rangers, then to the Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles, where he scored twice in 17 games, and finally to Belgium's A.F.C. Tubize.
Released by City, he signed for Torquay United in December 2019 before Notts County paid an undisclosed fee for him in July 2021. Nemane was part of the Notts County side that won the National League play-offs in 2022–23 to return to the Football League, and he was voted the club's Goal of the Season for 2023–24 after scoring in a 3–1 win at Walsall.
He went on to make 78 appearances for the club, and he was named MK Dons' Goal of the Season for his strike against Swindon Town on Boxing Day as the club finished as League Two runners-up and won promotion to League One.
His contract at Stadium MK expired in July, and he has since signed a two-year deal with Rotherham United, taking the number 23 shirt.
