About the player
Abdelnour Soualhia did not come up through a big academy. He started out at Angoulême before moving through Limoges and Trélissac APFC, and his senior career began at UA Cognac in France's fifth tier, National 3, where he made 14 appearances. From there the climb continued step by step rather than in one leap.
The move to Avoine OCC in 2021 was where he found real minutes: 72 appearances and five goals, and a promotion to National 2 with the club. He carried that form into his switch to Le Puy Foot 43 Auvergne in 2024, a free transfer into the third-tier National. Over 51 appearances there he added two more goals, and was part of the squad that won the National 2 title in Group A in the 2024–2025 season, taking Le Puy up to the National division.
That run of results opened the door to a bigger move. In July 2026 he signed for AZ Alkmaar on a free transfer, agreeing a contract running to the middle of 2028 with a club option for a further year, and was immediately sent out on loan to SC Telstar in the Eredivisie for the 2026–2027 season. Since arriving at Telstar he has made seven appearances and scored once.
