About the player
Aleksandar Simeonov came through the Dunav Ruse academy, moving up through the club's U17 side before joining the first-team squad. He was part of the group that won the Second League title and secured promotion to the top flight under head coach Georgi Chilikov.
Simeonov signed his first professional contract with Dunav Ruse, turning an academy product into a registered senior player without ever having to move clubs. Since then he has featured in the senior squad, mostly coming on from the bench as the team has settled into life in the top division.
Local media in Ruse have followed his progress closely, describing him as one of the city's own coming through the ranks. He has not yet been called into any Bulgarian national youth setup.
