About the player
Aleksandr Metsiev came through Krasnodar's academy before switching to Zenit Saint Petersburg's youth setup as a free agent in July 2022. In 2023 he joined PFC Sochi's youth ranks instead.
The path from there ran through Sochi's reserve side. In 2025 he was a regular for Sochi-2 in the FNL 2 Division B, appearing 30 times and scoring once. Sochi signed him to a professional contract with effect from 1 January 2025, and just over a year later he made his Russian Premier League debut for the first team in March 2026.
Metsiev has already worn the Russia shirt at youth level, with caps for the under-15s and under-16s in 2021, scoring once for the younger age group. Right-footed, he is still early in his senior career, with his first Premier League minutes for Sochi standing as the clearest marker of his progress so far.
