Axel Vilhelm Lindberg Norén

Axel Norén has left Mjällby AIF and come back to it, and both times the club won something. The second was far larger: the Allsvenskan title in 2025 and the Svenska Cupen in 2025–26, where Mjällby beat Hammarby IF 2–1 in the final. He was part of both winning squads but did not score in the final.

The route back began locally. Norén started out at Sölvesborgs GoIF, joined the Mjällby academy in 2016 and made his senior debut a year later. Over two seasons he played 29 league matches and scored twice. In August 2020 he moved to Falkenbergs FF, where he played 35 league matches and scored once before the end of 2021.

He arrived on a free transfer, and the club went up twice in a row: first as winners of the Ettan Södra in 2022, then as runners-up in Superettan in 2023, which took them into the Allsvenskan. Across those three seasons he made 77 league appearances and scored seven goals. His 2023 form brought a nomination for Superettan's Player of the Year.

In January 2025 he returned to Mjällby on a Bosman transfer, signing until 2027. By July 2026 he had played 37 league matches in this second spell and scored twice.

In June 2025 Sweden's coach Jon Dahl Tomasson included him in the senior national squad for friendlies against Hungary and Algeria. Norén did not play in either match.
