About the player
Romeo Arrhenius Leandersson came through Mjällby's own youth system and arrived in the first team just as the club were heading for the biggest season in their history.
He signed his first professional contract in December 2024. His senior debut followed in February 2025 in the Svenska Cupen against Gefle, and on 12 April 2025 he made his Allsvenskan debut against BK Häcken. The central midfielder had not yet turned 17.
Mjällby went on to win the Allsvenskan that year, the first league title in the club's history. It was secured on 20 October 2025 with 75 points. The Svenska Cupen followed in 2025–26, when Mjällby beat Hammarby IF 2–1 in the final on 15 May 2026. Arrhenius has since become an established member of the squad and has played in European competition.
Alongside his club career he has been part of Sweden's youth national teams. He has four caps at under-17 level, five at under-18 and three at under-19. He has not yet been capped by the senior national side.
