Bárbara Lopes grew through Sporting CP's youth ranks before her career took an unusual turn: rather than staying at one of Portugal's biggest clubs, she moved to Amora FC and then to Torreense. At Sporting she won the Taça de Portugal in the 2021/22 season and the National Championship's second division the year before, but it is at Torreense that her path has taken off. Her contract there was renewed through 2027.

The high point came in the 2024/25 season, when Torreense beat Benfica 2-1 after extra time to lift the Taça de Portugal. The following September, Torreense added the Supertaça and secured qualification for the Champions League for the first time.

Her rise has not stopped at club level. Lopes worked her way through Portugal's youth sides, from the under-16s to the under-23s, before earning her first senior call-up in 2025 for a friendly international, where she won her first cap. She was also named in the squad for Nations League qualifiers that February. Former coach Mariana Cabral described the call-up as a "deserved prize for persistence."

At Torreense, playing across defence and midfield, she has established herself as a regular presence.
