Bjørn Inge Utvik

Bjørn Inge Utvik plays in a protective helmet. He began wearing it in 2017 after several concussions.

He grew up around Avaldsnes, where he started out with the local club, before joining the FK Haugesund academy in 2012. He made his senior debut for Haugesund that year without playing a league match for the first team. The step that mattered came in 2013, when he moved to Sogndal Fotball and became a regular starter. Over the five years that followed he made 93 league appearances and scored five goals. In 2015 Sogndal won the OBOS-ligaen, which took them up to the Eliteserien.

In 2018 he joined Sarpsborg 08, where he spent five seasons and made 122 league appearances, scoring seven goals. In January 2024 he left on a free transfer for Vancouver Whitecaps, signing a two-year contract with a club option for a third. His first season in Canada brought a winner's medal in the Canadian Championship, the Voyageurs Cup.

In August 2025 Sarpsborg 08 brought him back, reportedly paying $250,000 (about 2 million NOK) to buy out the rest of his Vancouver contract. He signed a long-term deal that runs to the end of 2028.

Utvik has played for Norway at youth level, from under-15 up to under-21. He has not yet been capped by the senior national team.
