Carlos Jonas Alcaraz Duran

Carlos Alcaraz came through the Racing Club academy and made his senior debut in January 2020, going on to make 38 league appearances and score four goals before leaving in January 2023. He won the Trofeo de Campeones with Racing in 2022.

Southampton paid a fee reported between £12 million and £14 million to sign him in January 2023, with Racing keeping a 15% sell-on clause. Alcaraz made 42 league appearances and scored seven goals for the club, though Southampton were relegated from the Premier League in his first season there.

In January 2024 he joined Juventus on loan for the remainder of the season, making 10 Serie A appearances and two in the Coppa Italia, and won the Italian Cup with the club. Juventus held an option to sign him permanently for €49.5 million but did not take it up.

Flamengo made him their record signing in August 2024, paying around €18 million. He played 14 league matches and scored twice, and won the Copa do Brasil in 2024.

Alcaraz moved to Everton on loan from Flamengo in January 2025. He made 15 Premier League appearances, scoring twice and adding three assists, and in May 2025 Everton triggered a purchase option to make the move permanent, signing a contract until 2027.

He has not yet made his senior debut for Argentina, having been called up for World Cup qualifiers in October 2023 without playing, and has two caps at Under-23 level.
