Charlie Richard Cresswell

Cresswell's rise ran through Leeds United's academy, which he joined in 2013 before signing professional forms in September 2019. He made his senior debut for the club in September 2020, and by the time he left he had made 14 senior appearances across all competitions. A loan spell at Millwall in the 2022–2023 season told a different story: 28 league appearances and four goals. He returned to Leeds and signed a new four-year contract in July 2023, but a year later moved on again, joining Toulouse FC in July 2024.

At Toulouse he became a regular fixture, playing 34 matches with four goals and three assists in his first season, then matching that return with 32 appearances the following year. That form led to a loan move to Stade Rennais FC for the 2026–2027 season, agreed with an obligation to buy the following year.

Cresswell's biggest successes have come with England's youth sides. Capped 26 times for the under-21s, with three goals, he was part of the squad that won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2023 and again in 2025, and was named to the Team of the Tournament for the latter triumph. He captained Leeds United's under-23 side to the Premier League 2 Division 2 title, and was named among League Football Education's "The 11" for under-18 players in June 2019.
