About the player
Mahamadou Nagida made his breakthrough at Stade Rennais barely a year after leaving Cameroon. He arrived at the club from the EFBC academy in Douala in August 2023, signing a five-year contract, and spent his first season with Rennes II in the Championnat National 3 before being promoted to the first-team squad. By May 2026 he had made 48 appearances for Rennes' senior side, scoring twice in the league. In September 2025 the club moved to tie down its young left-back, extending his contract by a further year and keeping him at the Roazhon Park until 2029.
Nagida made his senior debut for Cameroon in June 2025 and has since earned ten caps, with three assists but no goals of his own. Between World Cup 2026 qualifiers, AFCON fixtures and friendlies against Uganda, Equatorial Guinea and China, he has featured in ten official matches for his country.
