About the player
Fifteen goals in 17 matches for WSG Tirol II in the Regionalliga Tirol made the case for Christian Hütz in the 2024/25 season. Hütz, a right-footed attacking midfielder who can also play as a forward, had spent the previous years working towards that step.
He grew up in the club's own system. Hütz came through Akademie Tirol, moving up from the U15 side in 2020 to the U16s a year later. From 2022 to 2024 he played at U18 and U19 level. The club was then known as WSG Wattens before it became WSG Tirol, and he stayed with it as it changed name.
His goals for the reserves were followed by a first-team chance. On 26 April 2025 he came off the bench in the 78th minute of a Bundesliga match against LASK. It was a short appearance, but it was his senior debut in the Austrian top flight.
The following season brought a title with the second team. WSG Tirol II won the Tirol League in 2025/26, and Hütz was part of that squad.
In June 2026 he left on loan for SV Austria Salzburg, where he is due to spend the 2026/27 season.
