About the player
He had arrived that May on a free transfer from Exeter City, the club he joined in 2012 and left seven years later.
Exeter is also his home city. There he was voted both Players' Player of the Year and Supporters' Player of the Year for the 2017–18 season. He had earlier represented England at Under-20 level.
He went out on loan to Stevenage for the 2021–22 season, then to Mansfield Town for 2022–23. Mansfield made the move permanent in July 2023 for an undisclosed fee. In 2023–24 he was part of the side that won promotion from EFL League Two.
Pym is eligible for Northern Ireland through his Belfast-born grandmother, and in October 2024 he received his first senior call-up. He joined the squad for the UEFA Nations League matches against Belarus and Bulgaria but did not make his debut in that camp.
In July 2025 he signed for Grimsby Town on a free transfer, agreeing a two-year deal.
