About the player
A hat-trick of assists in a 7–0 win over ŠTK 1914 Šamorín on 21 August 2023 was the most striking return of Cletus Nombil 's season at FC Petržalka, once his contract with Hapoel Jerusalem expired.
Nombil grew up in Bolgatanga and began with Tudu Mighty Jets before Dreams FC signed him in November 2017. He made his senior debut for the club in 2018, and in July of that year went to AC Sparta Prague on loan, joining the youth setup. The move did not become permanent because of visa and work permit problems, and he returned to Dreams FC. A loan to Techiman Eleven Wonders in April 2020 brought no league appearances.
In September 2020 he joined Hapoel Jerusalem on loan with an option to buy, and the club later exercised it. He stayed until 2023, with a spell on loan at Hapoel Kfar Saba between February and June 2022.
In January 2024 he moved to FC Zlín , signing a contract until June 2027. He was on the scoresheet in the opening round of the 2025/26 top-flight season, in a 3–1 win against Teplice.
