About the player
At 199 centimetres, Jakub Černín was signed by Zlín on a free transfer on 28 July 2023, on a contract running to the end of 2028.
His route there was long and made mostly of loans. He came through the youth systems of Moravan Lednice and Břeclav before joining the Zbrojovka Brno academy in 2014, and turned professional with the club in 2018. Zbrojovka sent him straight to Líšeň for 2018–19, and he was part of the squad that won promotion to the second tier. He made his Czech First League debut for Zbrojovka in 2019–20, then went back to Líšeň on loan in 2020.
From February 2021 he spent a year on loan at Blansko, and in February 2022 he returned to Líšeň, the club now known as Artis Brno. That July the move became permanent. His last season there, 2022–23, was his busiest: 43 appearances and seven goals from central defence.
Černín has played for the Czech Republic at U-17 level, winning two caps and scoring once. He has not played for the senior national team.
