Craig Forsyth

Craig Forsyth has been at Derby since 2013, has captained the club and reached 400 appearances on 11 April 2026. He first came to the club on loan from Watford in March 2013, and the permanent move followed that July for a reported £150,000.

Before that, he learned the game in Scotland. He made his debut for Dundee in November 2006 and was sent out on loan to Montrose in 2008 and then to Arbroath. At Arbroath he scored the winning goal in the 2009 Scottish Challenge Cup final, a trophy that stands on his record from his Dundee years. In June 2011 he moved to Watford for an estimated £100,000. A loan at Bradford City in the autumn of 2012 came before the spell at Derby that settled his career.

Forsyth won four caps for Scotland between 2014 and 2015, against Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Qatar and the Republic of Ireland.

At Derby, the promotion from League One in the 2023–24 season is the achievement that stands out. In June 2025 he signed an extension that runs to the end of the 2026–27 season.
