About the player
Farul Constanța is the club he keeps coming back to. He came through its youth ranks after earlier spells at Callatis Mangalia and Steaua București. He made his senior debut there in 2008 and scored twice in 18 appearances before Inter Milan took him in 2010.
Inter did not turn out to be a first-team story. He spent most of his time there out on loan, at Mechelen, Viitorul Constanța, where he scored five goals in 23 games, and Bologna. He scored 32 goals in 64 games at Astra Giurgiu, and the club later brought him back.
He moved to FCSB in January 2017 for a rumoured €2 million and scored nine goals in 34 appearances. He returned to Astra in July 2018 for a rumoured €1.4 million, and his second spell brought 20 goals in 56 games.
From there he was loaned to CFR Cluj, where he scored twice in 12 games, and to Atromitos, where he scored twice in 13. In July 2022 he rejoined Farul on a free transfer and scored 14 goals in 31 games. A season in Qatar with Muaither followed, with five goals in 21 games.
He was back at Farul in December 2023 and scored nine goals in 30 appearances in the 2024–2025 season. In 2025 he went to FCSB again and played seven times. By 2026 he was once more at Farul, where he made 19 appearances and scored seven goals. He is among the leading scorers in the history of the Romanian Liga I.
