Daniel Eid

Daniel Eid came on in the 103rd minute of the 2024 Norwegian Cup final, replacing Simen Rafn. Fredrikstad and Molde were goalless after extra time, and the match went to penalties. Fredrikstad won them 5-4 on 7 December and took the trophy. Eid was in the squad that lifted it.

He had joined the club only that summer, signing until the end of 2027 after leaving IFK Norrköping. His debut came on 21 July 2024, and he played 15 league games in that first half-season. He is right-footed and mostly plays at right-back.

The route there started in Ulsteinvik, at IL Hødd. Eid played for the reserve side from 2014 and made his first-team debut on 17 April 2017, in the Second Division against Vard Haugesund. Over the next three seasons he played 64 league games for Hødd and scored three goals.

In January 2020 he moved up a level to Sogndal in the First Division. He was a key player there for two seasons and scored seven league goals. Sogndal finished third in 2020 and sixth in 2021, and did not reach the Eliteserien through the play-offs in either year.

Norrköping signed him on 14 January 2022 on a contract running to the end of 2025. In the Swedish Allsvenskan he was a regular starter, with 67 league appearances and one goal. He left in July 2024 for Fredrikstad, a year and a half before that deal was due to expire.
