Daniil Shamkin

Daniil Shamkin spent almost his entire youth in one place. He joined the Zenit academy in Saint Petersburg in 2007 and worked his way through the age groups to Zenit-2 and, from 2019, the senior squad.

That squad was one of the strongest in the country. Shamkin was registered with the side that won the Russian Premier League in 2019/20 and 2020/21, the Russian Cup in 2019/20 and the Russian Super Cup in 2020 and 2021. His own share of the playing time was small: four league appearances in the first of those title seasons and three in the second, some of them alongside Champions League matches.

Regular football came only away from Zenit. He spent 2021/22 on loan at Baltika in Kaliningrad and 2022/23 at KAMAZ in Naberezhnye Chelny. In July 2023 he left Zenit for good and moved to Torpedo Moscow. In September 2025 he went back to KAMAZ on loan for the second half of the 2025/26 season.

In June 2026 he signed for Arsenal Tula on a free transfer. Every move of his career so far, loan or permanent, has come without a fee.

At youth level he played for Russia's under-17 side, winning 12 caps and scoring twice. That group included the 2019 UEFA European Under-17 Championship. He also made two appearances for the under-18s. A senior international debut has yet to come.

He is a right-footed midfielder who plays in central or more advanced positions.
