Igor Gorbunov

Igor Gorbunov told Arsenal Tula in a July 2025 interview that his leading foot is "left, only left" — he can shoot with his right but never dribbles with it.

His senior career took shape away from Moscow. At Olimpiyets Nizhny Novgorod he finished as top scorer of the PFL Zone "Urals-Povolzhye" in 2016/17 with ten goals as the club won the zone title. A move to Sochi followed, then a brief spell at Rotor Volgograd and a short stay at Armavir, where he managed only one appearance before that season was suspended. He returned to Nizhny Novgorod — by then rebranded from Olimpiyets — and won an FNL bronze medal in 2020/21. At Rubin Kazan he was part of the squad that won the First League in 2022/23, and at Torpedo Moscow he helped the club to an FNL silver medal in 2024/25 before leaving as a free agent.

Gorbunov signed for Arsenal Tula on a free transfer in July 2025 on a contract until June 2027. His return to face former club Torpedo Moscow the following August produced a goal in a 1-0 win, and he also scored against Shinnik and Rotor Volgograd. An oblique abdominal muscle injury picked up against Rotor in September 2026 kept him out of matches against Leningradets and Ural Yekaterinburg before he returned to training. He represented Russia at youth level, with two caps for the under-18s in 2012 and eleven for the under-19s across 2012 and 2013.
