About the player
Mikhail Tsulaya's route to the Arsenal Tula goal began with a change of city and a change of coach. He started out in the Krasnodar system, spending three years at a branch of its academy, then followed his coach to the Kuban academy.
At Rostov he went through every youth level from under-13 to under-21 and captained the youth team. His first-team debut came on 23 November 2022 in the Russian Cup against Orenburg. The 2024 season was his longest run of regular football: he made 27 appearances for Rostov-2 in the Second League B.
On 14 January 2025 he signed for Arsenal Tula. The size of the fee has been reported differently. RB Sport put it at 5 million roubles with a 20 per cent sell-on clause. By the 2025–26 season he was a regular starter in the First League.
Tsulaya has also played for Russia at youth level. He won six caps for the under-17 side between 2020 and 2023, and he started for the under-19s against Belarus in March 2023. His under-21 debut came in September 2023 against Uzbekistan. He has three caps at that level, the others against Vietnam in 2024 and Uzbekistan again in 2025, and he has been named in extended under-21 squads since.
