About the player
David Grygera carries a surname already familiar in Czech football: his father, Zdeněk, is a former Czech international defender.
His football began in his home town of Holešov, at SFK ELKO Holešov, where he spent three years from 2013. In 2016 he moved to the youth ranks of FC Trinity Zlín, and he stayed with the club through the age groups, playing for the U19 side until 2024. He did not wait for that spell to end before stepping up. From 2022 he was also part of FC Zlín B, which plays in the MSFL, the Czech third division, so he was meeting adult opposition while still a junior.
In the 2025/2026 season he made 31 appearances for Zlín B and scored four goals.
The step to the senior squad followed. In the 2026/2027 season he has played three matches in the Chance Liga, the Czech First League, and two in the MOL Cup. As a Zlín academy graduate, he reached the first team without a transfer fee changing hands.
