About the player
Denis Dashaev, who is also written Deni, came to Norway at the age of three and grew up in Kristiansand. He started out at Vigør and joined the academy of IK Start at six.
The step into the senior squad came in 2022, and he made his debut for the first team that same year. In May 2023 he signed his first professional contract with Start.
In August 2023 he went on loan to FK Fløy. The spell lasted about a month, included a few appearances, and ended when Start recalled him in September.
A longer loan followed in March 2026, this time to Strømmen IF in the OBOS-ligaen, the Norwegian second tier. Dashaev played there until the summer break, made 13 appearances and scored once. He then returned to Start.
Start won promotion to the Eliteserien after the 2025 OBOS-ligaen season. His route, from the academy to the first team and then out on loan, has been an internal one, and no transfer fee has been involved in any of his moves.
The loan spells at Fløy and Strømmen are the two periods of his career so far spent away from Start.
