Dmitri Girs

Dmitri Girs scored the Belarusian Higher League's best goal of 2023, and it came in a match his side lost. Playing for Slutsk against Naftan Novopolotsk on 4 November, he finished a solo run that the Belarusian Football Federation later named goal of the season. Naftan won the game 2:1.

Girs is from Chashniki and came through the BSU Football School in Minsk. He began his senior career in 2016 with Zvezda-BSU, the club that became Energetik-BSU a year later, and stayed in that structure until 2021. He played in both the First League and the Premier League during those years.

Two loan spells took him out of Minsk. In the second half of 2018 he went to Smolevichi, where he played mainly for the reserve team. In the first half of 2019 he was at Granit Mikashevichi and scored twice in 13 appearances.

He joined Slutsk in early 2022 and left when his contract expired in January 2024, the winter after the goal against Naftan.

In January 2026 Girs moved to Neman Grodno. Within weeks he had a trophy. On 28 February Neman met his former club Vitebsk in the Belarusian Super Cup final. The match finished 2:2 after extra time, and Neman won the penalty shoot-out 5:4.
