Edwuin Steven Cetré Angulo

Edwuin Cetré's path to Estudiantes de La Plata began far from Argentina, with a Colombian youth career built on a golden medal. He won the 2014 South American Games gold with Colombia's under-17 side and scored the winner in the 2015 U-17 Championship final, though the senior national team has yet to call him up. Cetré came through the Boca Juniors de Cali academy before his first move abroad, to Rocha in Uruguay's Segunda División in 2016.

His career turned a corner in Mexico. Signed by Santos Laguna in 2017, he won the Liga MX Clausura title in 2018, but disciplinary problems and his refusal of a loan move ended the spell early in 2019. A move to Deportivo Independiente Medellín in January 2023 brought another highlight, as he finished the year as the club's top scorer.

Estudiantes de La Plata signed him in January 2024, taking half of his sporting rights from Medellín on a contract running to the end of 2026. The transfer has paid off in silverware: the Copa de la Liga Profesional in 2024, the Trofeo de Campeones in both 2024 and 2025, and the Torneo Clausura in 2025, a campaign in which he was named the tournament's best player. ESPN Deportes later named him the best Colombian playing in Argentine football. In October 2025, he became the first Colombian to score for Estudiantes in the Clásico Platense, netting in a 2-0 win over Gimnasia y Esgrima.
