Eirik Wichne

Eirik Wichne was born in Oslo, at Rikshospitalet, but he is a product of Mandal, and that is where his football began. He joined FK Mandalskameratene at the age of six and stayed until late 2014, making his senior debut in the 3. divisjon in the 2013–2014 season. He made about 40 appearances for the club and scored seven goals.

In January 2015 he moved to IK Start, and his path there was gradual rather than sudden. He joined the senior squad and made his Eliteserien debut in 2016. He spent five seasons at the club, from 2015 to 2020, and played roughly 134 senior matches across all competitions. He scored three goals in that time.

The 2018 season brought his one call-up to a national youth setup, a training camp with the Norway U21 side. His brother Amund, one of the quadruplets, is a former Norway U21 international. Eirik has not been capped by the senior national team.

In January 2021 he joined Sarpsborg 08 on a free transfer, and the club has been his base since. By late 2025 he had made more than 150 appearances for Sarpsborg 08. Across his whole career he has played about 246 league matches and scored six league goals.

He is right-footed. Sarpsborg 08 lists him at 181 cm, though other databases give a lower figure. His career has been built on steady appearances at two clubs rather than on individual honours.
