About the player
Eray Korkmaz learned his football in Germany. Although he was born in İzmir, his youth career began with the U17 and U19 sides of VfB Lübeck, and he only later moved to Turkey. He joined Beşiktaş U19 in April 2021 and stayed until January 2022.
In 2022/23 he made 32 appearances in the league's White Group and one in the Turkish Cup. He then left the club as a free agent.
On 29 July 2023 he signed a contract with Çaykur Rizespor, for a free transfer, on a 3+1 year deal. He made 18 senior appearances for the club, in the Süper Lig across the 2023/24 and 2024/25 seasons.
In 2025/26 he made 22 appearances for Esenler Erokspor. For 2026/27 he went on loan to Mardin 1969 Spor, where he had played eight matches by September 2026.
For Turkey at Under-21 level he has one cap, in a 1–1 friendly draw with Slovenia U21 on 17 November 2023. He was also part of the squad for the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers, which included the match against Italy U21, but he did not add to that appearance.
