About the player
Erdem Canpolat made his first professional appearance in the Turkish Cup in November 2020. There he played for the under-19 side and briefly for the reserves in the Regionalliga West, but never appeared for the first team. His Süper Lig debut followed in May 2021. He made 14 league appearances for Kasımpaşa. In 2023 the team changed hotels in Hatay shortly before the earthquakes that struck southern Turkey and Syria.
He played 34 Süper Lig matches in his first season there. In 2024–25 he played 24 matches in the TFF 1. Lig, and the team won promotion.
In July 2025 he signed a two-year contract with Çaykur Rizespor, once more on a free transfer. He played seven Süper Lig matches for the club in 2025–26. In July 2026 Rizespor sent him on loan to Esenler Erokspor for the 2026–27 season. By September he had made eight appearances in the 1. Lig.
Born in Duisburg, Canpolat holds Turkish citizenship. Turkey and Kosovo both showed interest in him when he was young.
