About the player
Erick Nunes is a product of Fluminense's Xerém academy, which he joined at the age of 13 in 2017. He spent seven years in the Brazilian club's youth ranks, picking up honours such as the VR Cup and the Taça Rio Sub-14, but he never made a first-team league appearance for Fluminense's senior side.
His path to regular football opened up in January 2024, when he moved on loan to Cercle Brugge. He was assigned first to the reserve side, Jong Cercle Brugge, in the Eerste Divisie, where he scored twice in six appearances. That form was enough to earn him a place in the senior squad, and he made his league debut for Cercle Brugge on 11 August 2024. He went on to feature in 27 league matches across the 2024–2025 season.
Cercle Brugge made the move permanent in April 2025, taking up an option to sign him for a reported fee of around €500,000 and tying him to a contract until 2029.
Nunes has not yet represented Brazil at any youth or senior international level, so his career to date has been built entirely within club football, first in the Fluminense academy and now at Cercle Brugge.
