About the player
Freddie Draper's route to the Lincoln City first team ran through three loan spells. He signed his first professional contract on his 17th birthday in July 2021, having arrived at the club as a scholar the year before from the Derby County academy. He had started out at Coventry City as a child.
The first loan, at Gainsborough Trinity in the spring of 2022, brought eight appearances and one goal. It was preceded by a good year in the academy: he was named Lincoln's Academy Player of the Season for 2021–22 and was nominated for EFL Apprentice of the Season.
At Drogheda United in 2023 he scored eight goals in 21 league appearances, and the League of Ireland named him its Player of the Month for May. He then went to Walsall, where he scored his first senior hat-trick, against Newport County . He finished with ten league goals in 22 appearances there, before Lincoln recalled him early in January 2024.
He has 15 league goals in 101 appearances for the club, and 18 in 123 across all competitions. In 2025–26 he scored seven league goals in 32 appearances, as part of the squad that won the League One title. Away from matches, Lincoln's supporters voted him Community Player of the Year for 2024–25.
He has not played for England at any youth level.
