About the player
George Wickens spent the 2025–26 season as the goalkeeper on a Lincoln City side that won the EFL League One title and went up to the Championship. 19 clean sheets, enough to share the League One Golden Glove with Filip Marschall.
He was also named in the EFL League One Team of the Season and in the PFA Team of the Year. He recorded four assists, which matches the record for a goalkeeper in an English season.
Lincoln signed him in July 2024 on a permanent free transfer from Fulham. He had joined Fulham's academy at Under-12 level and stayed on the club's books until 2024 without playing a first-team league match. His development came out on loan instead.
The first spell was at Wealdstone in 2021–22, where he made 40 league appearances. The second came in January 2024 at Ross County, where he played 13 league matches.
Wickens also played for England at youth level. He played for the Under-16s and won one cap for the Under-18s in 2019.
