Finley Stevens

Fin Stevens was released by Arsenal at the end of the 2018–19 season, having come through the academy since the age of six and reached the under-16 level. He did not stay out of the game for long: he joined Worthing, made 13 league appearances and scored once in 2019–20, and in July 2020 signed for Brentford.

He was named Brentford B Player of the Year, the Mary Halder Award, for 2020–21, and in 2022–23 he was part of the B team that won the Premier League Cup. He was also in the matchday squad for the 2021 Championship play-off final as an unused substitute, and received a promotion medal. His first-team appearances for the club came to ten, without a goal.

Regular football came on loan. He spent 2022–23 at Swansea City, returning in January 2023, and then 2023–24 at Oxford United. There he played 43 times in all competitions. His first professional goal came in a 3–0 win over Shrewsbury Town on 3 October 2023, and he was in the Oxford squad that won the 2024 League One play-offs.

On 26 July 2024 he moved to FC St. Pauli, a fee reported at between €600,000 and €1 million. His appearances in the 2024–25 season were limited.

For Wales, Stevens qualifies through a grandfather born in Cardiff. He has 20 caps at under-21 level and captained that side in 2022–23. His first senior caps followed in June 2024, when he started two friendlies.
