About the player
Fofin Turay came through the academy at FC Groningen and signed his first professional contract with the club in February 2023, before making his senior debut in August that year, appearing in both the Eerste Divisie and the Eredivisie. He built up around 20 first-team appearances, including 16 in the Eerste Divisie and three in the KNVB Cup during the 2023/24 campaign, without finding the net.
Early in 2025 he suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury that kept him sidelined for several months. He returned in time to be loaned out to TOP Oss for the 2025/26 season, where he added seven appearances in the Eerste Divisie. When his contract at Groningen expired in June 2026, he moved on a free transfer to SC Telstar two months later.
Turay has made one Eredivisie appearance for Telstar so far, wearing the number 21 shirt. Across his career to date he has 27 appearances without a goal or an assist to his name.
