Molloy began his development within the youth setups of Drogheda United and Bohemians, laying the foundation for his professional path. He transitioned to the first team at Shelbourne in July 2021, establishing himself as a reliable left-footed defender. The move to Aberdeen on 14 June 2024 marked a significant step up in his career, with the Scottish side securing his services for a fee reported at 75,000 pounds sterling.
His time at Shelbourne concluded in June 2024, coming at a moment when the club had just celebrated their championship victory, though he had already departed the premise. He signed a three-year deal in Scotland.
