Jack Milne

Jack Milne’s path to the first team was not a straight line. After joining Aberdeen’s youth academy at Under-12 level, he balanced football with studies at the SFA Performance School at Hazlehead Academy. He signed his first full-time contract in the summer of 2020, but the move to the senior squad in 2021 required patience. Before finding his footing, he spent two seasons out on loan. Between 2021 and 2023, he played for Brechin City and Kelty Hearts. These were free loans, and while the experience at Kelty Hearts yielded no goals, he made fifteen appearances.

His breakthrough moment came during the 2024–25 season. Milne started in the Scottish Cup final against Celtic at Hampden Park. The match ended in a 1–1 draw, but Aberdeen won 4–3 on penalties. It remains his major achievement to date.

Following the cup success, he extended his stay at Pittodrie. In April 2025, Milne signed a four-year contract, keeping him at the club until at least May 2029. He wears squad number 22 and operates as a right-footed centre-back. He has not yet received a senior national team call-up, but he has progressed through the ranks. He made his debut for Scotland Under-21 in a friendly against Turkey in Istanbul in June 2024. He has since earned three caps, including appearances in UEFA U21 Euro 2025 qualifiers against Spain and Malta.

Milne’s journey from the academy to a permanent contract shows steady development. He did not rush the process. The loans provided necessary experience. The cup final provided a platform.
