Kevin Nisbet has carved out a reputation as a finisher, but his path to the top flight was anything but straightforward. The Glasgow-born striker’s early years were defined by movement rather than stability. After brief stints at Hibernian and Partick Thistle, he found his footing on loan at East Stirlingshire, where six goals in eleven appearances hinted at the potency that would later define his career. It was at Raith Rovers, however, that Nisbet truly announced himself. In a breakout campaign, he netted 29 league goals, earning the Scottish League One top scorer award and a PFA Scotland Player of the Year nomination. That form propelled him to Dunfermline Athletic, where he added another 18 goals in just 25 games.

His move to Hibernian brought consistency, with 31 goals across 78 appearances establishing him as a reliable scorer. Yet, rather than settling, Nisbet sought a new challenge. He joined Millwall for £2 million, only to be immediately loaned back to Aberdeen. That season at Pittodrie proved decisive. He scored 11 goals in 32 appearances and played a pivotal role in helping the club win the Scottish Cup, defeating Celtic 4–3 on penalties in the final. The victory marked Aberdeen’s first major trophy since 1990, a milestone Nisbet helped secure through his composure in front of goal.

On the international stage, Nisbet has represented Scotland at the highest level. He made his debut in March 2021 against the Faroe Islands and scored his first international goal in a friendly against the Netherlands. He was also part of the squad at Euro 2020, featuring against the Czech Republic, England, and Croatia. With one goal from 11 caps, he remains a valid option for the national team.

After his loan spell ended, Aberdeen secured his services permanently on a three-year deal. The transfer, reported to be worth six figures, solidified his status as a key figure for the Dons. Nisbet’s journey from a young player struggling for minutes at Partick Thistle to a cup-winning striker demonstrates his resilience. He does not shy away from responsibility, instead stepping up when it matters most. His ability to score in crucial moments has made him a fan favourite.

Now settled at Aberdeen, Nisbet looks to build on his recent success. With the Scottish Cup already in his locker, he aims to add more silverware.
