Henrik Heggheim

Henrik Heggheim was part of the Viking side that won the Eliteserien in 2025, the club's first league title since 1991. For a defender from Stavanger who joined the Viking academy in 2006 at the age of five, it was a championship won at the club where he grew up.

He signed his first professional contract in June 2020 and made his league debut on 1 July 2020. Little more than a year later, in August 2021, Brøndby IF signed him on a four-year contract. Norwegian media, among them Aftenbladet, VG and NRK, reported the fee as more than 20 million kroner, a record for Viking at the time.

Life in Denmark was uneven. In 2023 he won the Atlantic Cup with Brøndby, and from 14 March to 30 June that year he was loaned to Vålerenga, where he made 12 appearances (nine in the league, three in the cup) without scoring. He returned to Viking on 30 August 2024, signing a four-and-a-half-year contract. The Danish outlet Tipsbladet reported the fee at about 2.2 million kroner, with bonuses that could take it to 2.6 million; Viking presented the move as a homecoming.

Heggheim has also played for Norway at youth level. He won 18 caps for the under-21 side between 2021 and 2023, making his debut in September 2021 against Austria in a European Under-21 Championship qualifier. He has not yet played for the senior national team.
