Ibou Sane

Ibou Sané began his career at the Génération Foot academy in Senegal, part of a pipeline with a long-standing link to FC Metz. His time there ended on a high: he was part of the squad that won the Senegalese Ligue 1 in the 2022–23 season, when he signed a five-year contract with Metz running until 2028.

The step up was gradual. Sané spent time with Metz's reserve side in Championnat National 3, where he scored 13 goals in 17 appearances. He made his mark at senior level in the 2025–26 season, appearing 16 times in Ligue 1 and contributing a goal and an assist for Metz.

In February 2026, he was loaned to Amiens for the rest of the season, a move made without an option to buy. The loan was cut short in April 2026, when he suffered a knee sprain in a match against Rodez.

Internationally, Sané has represented Senegal at youth level, playing for the U17s before moving up to the U20s. He earned two caps and scored once for the U20 side, which won the 2023 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. He has yet to be called up to the senior national team.
